| Pump Aeration:
Cavitation-type pock marks, as seen at the outlet metering notches,
is a result of aeration. Air bubbles trapped between the vanes
of a pump are violently imploded when subjected to outlet
pressure. Metal particles blasted away become fine
contamination causing wear & scoring of the pressure plate &
mating rotor surface. |
